Why is White Chocolate white when it has Cocoa in it?!
-Cocoa butter
Do you ever wonder if white chocolate is actually
chocolate? It contains cocoa so surely it is? White chocolate consists on these
ingredients: Sugar, cocoa butter,
milk, vanilla and lecithin. White Chocolate
isn’t actually chocolate though because white chocolate doesn’t have any
chocolate solids in it. Though white chocolate contains extracted chocolate
butter, it lacks the component that defines real chocolate. White chocolate
sme lls sweeter than ordinary chocolate because cocoa butter has the distinct chocolate
smell. White chocolates main ingredient is cocoa butter which is a vegetable
fat that comes from the cocoa bean but it’s not classified as chocolate. Cocoa
butter has very faint chocolate flavour, so no wonder it doesn’t taste much
like chocolate! In conclusion, I believe white chocolate shouldn’t be called
chocolate, because it doesn’t have any chocolate in it does it. Do you believe me?
