Swimming Sports Story
Jaw Dropping Race
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Thats all I could do. Sitting there with my teeth chattering with coldness. Finally the waitless time had arrived. Bitter water welcomed my body that was covered in goosebumps. The crowd was roaring supporting everybody. There was only 1 thing I could concentrate on. Winning. Happy pictures popped into my head that will hopefully come true. Leaning back my arms were shivering with nerves. On your marks"...
BEEP! Pushing off my arms and legs were now in control. Water rushed past my ear running back into the clear, calm water. My energy was released out of its cage after centuries of waiting. Excitement rushed through my purple vains and fast as water flying down a waterfall. Ripples of water landed on my arms that were reaching out and going as fast as propellers. I had nothing to lose with the finish line only a couple metres away.
Suddenly I felt a wet wall touch my soaking hand with a quiet thump. My mouth turned into all gleaming grin. But all the happiness melted away as soon as my timers mouth moved and made out a 2nd place. My tummy turned as tight as a rubber band. Blackness gushes over my face that blocked me out of the outside world. There was no longer sunlight. Gradually my hands lifted me out of the pool. I was unable to stand up with my brick legs pulling me down. The gut retching results was sickening me. Georgia had claimed victory by a split second. Next time there will be no mercy.
There will only be defeat!

The Wood
On Saturday Mum, Dad, Jorja and I went out to our wood shed to cut up some big peices of wood into little bits for the winter. We were very busy for about 2 or 3 hours and we did a lot of work. I am now very tired!

The Haunted House
Looking through the window of jagged broken shards of glass I could see photos of ancestors looking dangerous with their dangerous snarls. The carpet was a dark grey and the walls were covered in scratches, hole and unknown hand marks. A table was embroidered with skulls and other scary things. The windows were covered with cities of moss and slimy, green substances. My only option was to open the door.
Gazing at the door it was a horrible sight. It was a ragged thin wooden door with musty, green paint that was peeling off the edges. The doorknob got closer to my hand that was sweaty and shaking. Quickly my hand twisted the knob without warning. There was no going back.
The first thing I could see was ripped curtains that looked as if rats had been climbing up them. The creaky floorboards groaned as I crawled across them as light as a feather. Rocks were littering the ground. A staircase led up to the bedrooms and bathrooms that were full of water, slime and blood. Red footmarks led to a bedroom that was full of dusty ornaments that stood on mouldy, disgusting tables. A
blanket covered and ancient chest with a huge lock. I began to open it...

By Anna Kenna

SJ-P4-N1-2008
Diggity is a dog. He loves digging. That's how he got his name. His cream body gleams in the sun. His breed is the golden Labrador. All day long all he does is dig. Dig, Dig, and dig burring bones and other canine treasures. Sometimes there is dramas but the
narrator and Diggity but up with it. Mum, Dad, Lucy and the narrator were packing up get ready to have a relaxing, Comfortable day at the beach.
When they reached their destination, Flying sand covered everybody as they screeched with laughter. When the Mum and Dad had had enough they reset there 2 deck chairs. Diggity got bored. He decided to play in the waves with the narrator. Narrator and Diggity were having a wonderful time but eventually the Narrator got bored and decided to sit down and relax on the beach towel.
Next minute the Narrator heard a dog whimper and a mongrel snarl (which is a dog without a breed). Dad and the Narrator went to see what the fuss was about worriedly. Before they could think they saw something horrible. Diggity lying on the ground with blood on his creamy, now red stained necks coat. The narrator was horrified. Her Dad scared off the nasty dog with big fangs and gently picked up Diggity and drove him to hospital (vets for dogs!). In a matter of days Diggity was hobbling out of the vets slowly and silently and as soon as the narrator saw him rushed up and gave him a huge, But soft hug

The Lions Club Fun Bike Day
On Taranaki Anniversary day every year the Lions Club hold a fun bike ride. My whole family did it and it was a lot of fun. Also Bailegh Collins came along and did it too. We biked over farms and went through cow sheds and I loved it. Going on rocky tracks was quite bumpy but eventually it became a good ride. Afterwards there was a fair on by hollard gardens and there was a lot of arts and crafts you could even ride a pony for $3.00. There was a spot prize and I got 2 pens. It was a wonderful day. If you want to participate next year it will be a great help to the Lions Club.
Here is Me, Jorja and Bailegh.

Athletics Practise Story
Go! Go! Go!
'' Ten year old girls!" Yelled Mrs Cocker. We were lined up and we were as still as trees. My heart was going Thump! Thump! Thump! With the tension bubbling up inside. My head was full of a million thoughts telling me what to do next. Fist clenched reaching forward ready to take off. With victory close on my the side of my mind reminding of what I had to do. Win. This. Race.
Scheech! Went the whistle and I was no longer still. My feet were thunder on the ground pummelling everything in it's path. I couldn't look back. A drip of sweat began to show. I had to keep going. My legs were in control. Tingling down my spine was excitement. My enemies were falling behind.
I was going a million miles an hour using my lightning boots as an advantage. My feet were on fire flaming up the grass behind me. My eyes were staring at the prize. The finish line. Legs running, Heart racing. I can have victory once and for all.
Lying on the ground, Breathing in and out heavily, Exhausted. My head was spinning like a tabletop but there was great news. I got to be in the A grade. Mr Spice gave me a glittering, Gleaming token and said I got 3rd.
Victory was at close reach but I will get it someday.
